Issue of Gorkhaland
by Giri on Jun 17, 2008 12:51 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

The demand of Gorkhaland is avery genuine demand based on the linguistic division of states followed in India. Presently Bengal is divided into North Bengal and West Bengal and Noth Bengal is exploited(ruled) by Govt. of West Bengal. Look at the parameters of progress in North Bengal and West Bengal(South of Farakka) and you will see the glaring differences. It is the time to say enough is enough and no more lip service from Govt. of West Bengal

yes true Giri, to some extent it appears that the northern part of Bengal is comperatively deprived of the development work that it deserves. Immediately there needs to be a good airport there.. If possible Bagdogra airport has to be upgraded. The infrustructure has to be made better. The state govt has to make investors set up industries there.. That can change the scenerio.. I donno if its problem with India as a whole.. unless people get aggrieved they dont seem to bother.. their action is largely reactive than being pro active.
