I do not agree that 'The Left Parties have Lost Ground'. Rather, they have been acquiring more grounds (land). Latest is cornering more grounds (land) in Delhi at Govt. concessional rates. They have huge landed properties in Kerala and even ground-level Committees in the State have landed properties! THis is as per report in Times of India.

Nowadays, even politics is for prosperity of the people who practise and not service. Even the communists are no exception. What if some of their old alliances break, as far as prosperity of the politicians are ensured.

NE states are Christians, they drive out Hindus and Buddhists, they have nothing to do with LEFT parties.
