Legalize SIMI !!!
by imran patel on Jun 06, 2008 12:13 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

This another example of wrong strategy.

Banning SIMI was the worst thing that the government can do.

I know people will call me names and tell me that I am a Muslim and Blah Blah...

Put your thinking caps on guys. Let SIMI operate in the open. This will help us keep a track of their leadership, contacts, operations, movements, funding, etc.

Also, by banning it, we lose the PR battle. A majority of Muslims, including myself, do not care much for organizations such as SIMI. But by banning it, the government ends up giving it more importance/legitimacy than it deserves.

A banned SIMI plays the "Victim" drama and unfortunately some Muslims fall for it. We must let organizations like these operate, but make sure their activities do not break the LAW.

SIMI does not have a big following and with its stupid aganda, it will never have a big following. Just like the Shiv Sena, it will end up as a party of the angry few.

Banning parties is not the solution. Debating them and offereing people better options is what will end this insanity.

No country should allow terrorist organization! SIMI is terrorist organization and rightfully banned. Do not compare Shiv Sena with SIMI? Shiv Sena is not involved in terrorist activities.

Shiv Sena is not the party of angry few !!! It has 72 MLA's ( highest in MH assembly ) and 12 MP's in Loksabha. Keep your Islamic face to yourself and stop anti-india activities.

I have seen the "terror" that Shiv Sena activist/supporters have caused first hand. I have seen them beat up people for celebrating Valentine's Day. I have seen them loot shops.

But I also know that a majority of Hindus do not support them.

My point is that by banning such oragizations we push them to the extreme. We have to involve them in discussions and debates.

SIMI has nothing to offer. People will reject their message. That is how you defeat them.

Shiv Sena was a rising force in the 80s and the 90s. But their message lacked substance. Now they are on the decline. Banning them would have strengthen them. Not because of their message, but because they would gain sympathy from people who otherwise would not support them.

Same situation is with SIMI. Muslims will not even remember their name. They are famous because they are Banned. Their is their biggest claim to fame.

Terrorism is broad range of actions that individuals/groups of individuals indulge in to scare the population. This may include killing people.

No allowing people from other states to come and earn a living in Maharashtra is against the founding principles of this nation.

Terrorizing woman, children and families from north Indian states is Anti-Indian.

They are not as extreme as SIMI, no doubt. But banning the Shiv-Sena will drive them to that extreme.

That is my point. By banning organizations, we push them to extremes.

SIMI is more violent after the BAN. We did not hear about SIMI bombings before 2001.

We should ask ourselves...is banning the best way to deal with these problems ?

I have to agree with Imran on this one.
Shiv Sena's objective is anti constitutional. It is a threat to law and order and the concept of India.
It has a history of terrorizing gujaratis, south indians, Now north indians and particularly muslims(basically all non maharashtrians).

It is a policy to gain votes.
Do not make the mistake of thinking that SS are patriots.

Somebody should get the balls to put Sainiks in Jail.

Thanks.

The approach that I advocate and practise is a long and hard one, but with ever-lasting results.

I cannot change the mind-set of all. But I make sure that my cousins, nephews, etc are on the right track and have the right priorities.

It is a slow process. But I see it. Few months back uncle from london (Born in Pakistan) was visiting India. We were watching the India - Pakistan match. My uncle was supporting Pakistan and pakistan was playing well.

My small cousin (6 years old) started crying and told my uncle that if he didn't stop supporting pakistan, he will call the police.

That is the internal change I am talking about. And that is a long lasting change.

Imran,

I do not normally post messages here because most of the time its all full of crap. Honestly, I am here to appreciate your views. You seem to be a man with purpose. If all of us can have similar thoughts - it will be a different country.

Keep it up my friend!

the best example i give for muslims is turkey
see what a beautiful country...
the court ordered the governemt not to make mandatory the head scarfs for women as its not a secular move...it saved the country from starting the steps of being communal..

until minority appeasement, votebank politics, sacchar recommendations, haj subsidies, j&k speacial act in constitution are dealt with like in a secular country, liberal people like you and many other muslims are always going to face millions in this country who doubt your faith...cause there are many in your community who are neither loyal nor trustworthy maybe cause they are not educated or maybe cause they have gone mad follwing some idito preacher teaching them to die and kill others too. madarsas sould be routed in this country

You're right and god bless you !

But you must start reforming Islam...You don't have to do it openly otherwise the mullahs might issue a fatwah on you !

Do it via a website so none of you sensible progressive muslims have to reveal your identity...may be involve our highly-respected former president Kalam.

FYI there's a website called faithfreedom dot org that was started by one Iranian guy who was raised as muslim but who has quit Islam. On the website he lists all the nonsense garbage and violence that exists in Islam since its beginning but does not make sense in this day and age. All that needs to be reformed. But this guy does not mention the good stuff in Islam. He is taking an extrimist approach and claims that it is not possible to reform Islam and only way is for muslims to quit Islam similar to what non-communist Chinese say about CCP (Chinese Communist Party). They claim about 40 million Chinese have quit CCP.

Good luck !

Maybe the politicians were scared that if they do not ban SIMI, then it will take a sronger political face and someday (who knows) it might become a party like Shiv Sena (but for all the wrong reasons).
What you say?
