ON ISLAM AGAIN
by Ramesh Anand on Jun 06, 2008 08:45 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

I had commented on Islam, based on the religious book Quran. But I do not know why were they removed from the discussion board though there was hardly anything derogatory.Things were based on Vedas and Quran.I again give below my remarks for healthy discussion-
All religions do not tell/preach the same thing.Hindu religion(Vedas,Upinasads-MOOL GRANTHS) say "..thus when a human being sees all the living beings in PARABRAHAMA PARMATAMAA(meaning God)and vice-versa(sees all pervading God only in all the creatures),how can he/she hate any one?He/She always sees his God everywhere,in every creature and in all the creation, all the time and therefore bows before them(creation), respects them and serves them"
Islam and Christianity, however does not command or advises its followers to see god in Kafars(So far muslims have not declared that Hindus of India are not kafars).Their religious books do not see even all human beings as equals.Infact Quran orders its followers not to befriend a Jews or a Christian and kill the kafirs wherever and whenever possible.

The Quran says: Do not take them as your Auliyas which means do not take them as your religious leaders. Never does it say that do not befriend them. It doesnt say this even about the Kuffars that you were talking about!

BTW Kuffar in Arabic means to Cover Up, Get Dazed. It also means a Farmer- Who is dazed up looking at his fields! Simply put it can mean a person who is blinded and cannot see beyond as there is a veil before his eyes.

Muslim understanding of God is different. A verse in the Quran says that:

He is beyond our perceptions.

There is none Comparable unto him! Our minds cannot grasp him and this veil will only be lifted on the day of judgement.

This centuries old muslim understanding has been validated by the so called intellectual philosophers of the west of the 20th century!

Since there is none comparable unto him, we cannot equate him to any one on this earth be it humans or animals. This by no means, means that we should not be compassionate to the living world. There are many verses dealing with compassion in the Quran. Infact every beginning surah of the Quran begins with: In the name of Allah, the most compassionate and the most merciful except a couple where the wrath of Allah is on wrong doers. However it also says that His Mercy Prevails over his Wrath! Some translate it as Most gracious, most merciful.

About equality: O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things).O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord Who created you from a single person created of like nature his mate and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women; reverence Allah through Whom ye demand your mutual (rights) and (reverence) the wombs (that bore you): for Allah ever watches over you.And among his wonders is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the diversity of your tongues and colours: for in this there are signs indeed for all who are wise- (The Noble Qur'an 30:22)O mankind! verily there hath come to you a convincing proof from your Lord: for We have sent unto you a light (that is) manifest. Then those who believe in Allah and hold fast to Him soon will He admit them to Mercy and Grace from Him and guide them to Himself by a straight Way.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black, nor a black has any superiority over a white- except by piety and good action.
