What you need to think about is why those poor migrants need to leave their home states & come to economically prosperous states like Maharashtra.
If their homestates had not been shortchanged by their leaders for the past 60 years, they would have had ample opportunity and stayed back home; who wants to leave home and go out after all unless compelled to?
Besides, you are pointing to a very small subset (a handful of people) who are mere hoodlums - and we all know that there are more than enough hoodlums in all those "migrant" states don't we?
Maharashtra has the highest contribution to to the nations' GDP and has been paying for the developmental deficit of other states for the last 60 years. I presume you are from one of those states.
You need to think about getting your state to stand on its feet rather than waiting for yearly handouts from rich states like Maharashtra.

thats a good point Raja.. Mumbai is propspering because of the migratnts.. Just look at the rest of Maharastra, where there are no migrants.. The situation is pathetic and their farmers are commiting suicides.. But still they want to live in utopia that it is because of them that Mumbai is what it is today..

Marathis hijacked Mumbai in late 50s. Remember Samyukt Maharashtra Movement. They thought once Mumbai becomes a part of Maharashtra, it would only belong to Marathis. What a foolish imagination.

Unfortunately, the reason why your "homestates" do not prosper, is because none of you can keep the dialog to a civilized level.
Look at the language you are using!
Remember one thing: It is Maharashtrians who created conducive conditions for all migrants to come & contribute to this state.
Otherwise, who had stopped Bihar & UP from creating such an atmosphere? Who wants to go to those states? Even your own people don't want to stay there! Its shameful, but somehow, all of you have your heads stuck in the sand.
Maharashtra has prospered way beyond Mumbai - some of the smaller towns of Maharashtra are more prosperous than multiple districts put together of Bihar & UP (example: Jalgaon, Kolhapur, Nasik and Nagpur). Lets not even talk about Western Maharashtra - Pune included which is light years ahead of your impoverished states.
Sure there are problems like farmer suicides and no one is proud of them. We certainly have to solve these problems. But farmer suicides in Maharashtra make headlines because it is Maharashtra where no one expects such things; daily killings & deaths in UP & Bihar don't even make headlines anymore. This is tragic.
Why don't you educated folks go and try to make a difference in your home states?

Mr. Raja says other than Bombay, maharashtra is worse than Bihar..... Poor Mr.Raja... have you ever been to any part of Maharashtra.... i would certainly not comment on Bihar because i had never been there... I live in Pune and its i dont have to say any thing about it...... I had seen all almost the western Maharashtra and Konkan ...... I dont think any of the place is other than good to live......
