Lot of Hindus and Buddhists are trying to escape from Bangladesh, as it is not possible for them to live there. Their condition is the same as that of the Hindu-Sikhs in Kashmir in 1990. Thus, all infiltrators from Bangladesh are not Muslims, a lot of them are Hindu-Buddhist refugees.

BDR (Bangladesh Rifles) ensures that no Hindu or Buddhist escapes to India as they will reveal the atrocities being perpetrated agaisnt the minorities there. They only permit the Bangladeshi Muslims to infiltrate who are welcomed by the W.B. ruling party (for their Vote Bank). Thus now-a-days most of the infiltrators from Bangladesh are Muslims only.

During the last General Election the Election Commissioner in West Bengal had identified at least 2 lakhs of names of Hindus, whom it has declared as Bangladeshi Infiltrators, as they arrived in India after 1971. Similar moves were made in both Orissa and Assam, and now in Rajasthan. ASt least 5 Lakhs of Rangia a Hindu tribe were evicted from Mizoram and they are living in camps in Tripura.
The Election Commissioner does not identify any Muslims, only the Hindus or Buddhists.
