aga...you are mistaken... while the present US wants India to be a friend in need to combat the threat from islamic countries including Pakistan (and China), they were masterminding the attacks against India by Pakistan as well as China till recently. 9/11 was an eye opener for them coupled with the economic progress India achieved by 2007. In today's situation, US has no other option but to be friendly with India for their own benefit - not that they want India to get developed or progressed in any field.
