religion...
by anirban chakraborty on Jul 29, 2008 09:01 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

In the last 1 years or so, religion has killed more people than anything else. Religion has outlived its use. It is time now that we dismantle entire religious activities from public space. Only then, there would remain nothing to kill or die for.

This century is an age of science and technology. We should invest our time and energy in scientific persuit and to build up a logical mind-frame.

If the public at large does this, the nasty terrorists will be isolated. They will be denied local base, and cannot carry out the "brave" acts of bombing at defenceless citizens.

I do not believe in a God which gives me misery while I am living, and enormous peace and happiness when I am dead.

I go with Anirban,

I quit this god...during 1992 riots when I was a school kid. I realized, either ram or rahim, people get killed for no great reason...!

Keeping the religion out of politics, making it more personal can help solve such issues.

If not we can solve the problem, then who?

But do you believe in something which controls your's and mine past, present & future?? Some times when everything goes as per your plan, something goes wrong, or when everything goes wrong, some invisible hand helps to put everything in right track?? What do you call it?? I had these experiences and I strongly believe, it is the hand of God!!

'hand of God' is what Maradona did against England in World Cup football 1986. In our day-to-day life, there is no hand of God. If there was indeed a hand of god, then why would a ram or a rahim or a john lose life in a roadside bombing for no fault of his?
But yes, I respect your personal belief. I request you to respect mine as well. Just because our opinions differ, we are not going to bomb at each other.

Mr. Chakraborty

Communists dream of an Utopian society. Such a society does not exist in the real world. Like day and night, pleasures and pains are two sides of the same coin and you cannot have eternal bliss for ever. God has not given everybody with equal wisdom. While some are destined to become top scientists or engineers or doctors, some other are destined to become headload workers and farmers working under the scorching sun. Look at the nature, how the God has decorated it with. Flowers have different colours and it smells differently. Animals - from smallest squirrels to biggest elephant. Some innocent animals like deer become prey to more cruel animals like tiger, leopard and lions. These scenes are all part of our world, and the God desires it to be so. When egoistic man says there is no God and IAM the super being in the worlds, it takes only a few seconds for God to make realize where he stands. A few seconds earthquake and the empire man built labourously will collapse in no time.
most of the scientists whom you people are very proud of are religious and pay their respect to the Creator - God and you vouch in the name of those scientists that there is no God. What an irony!

U r almost right. Even in former communist countries like USSR, Yugoslavia etc, where it is taught that religion is an opium, religious beliefs did not die and there were some fights between people having beliefs in different religion. Islam was present in most of these fights. Even in Communist China it is like that.

Only very serious people can come out of religious beliefs.

In this age of science, people should not take decisions based on religious differences. Religion should b something to b practiced in the house or in the mind. All religions hv lot of superstitions. While following one's religion, whatever is against scientific theories should b discarded.

religion is the opium of the masses.
to remove ppl from this opiate we need education and with Indian ppl being desperately poor and unable to afford proper education to remove religion it will take a lot of time
