The communities that have been suppressed over the ages, e.g. Blacks in US & Dalits in India, or the minorities, e.g. Jews & Indians in US and Muslims & Sikhs in India, need to be protected from the society at large. We can not keep complaining about special interest or affirmative action laws. They are needed to integrate these communities. Minority communities will always band together to safeguard themselves from the rest. There are too many parallels between the Indian community in US and Muslims in India.
Having said that, let us concentrate on solving the problems facing our future. Instead of making derogatory comments about any community, positive comments about the future: inclusive economic growth, advantages of education of children in main stream schools, and the harmony as a whole should be discussed. Disharmony exists mainly among the uneducated & poor on both sides. If we keep emphasizing positives, positive will propagate.
J&K was beginning to look to be returning to normalcy but Amarnath fiasco derailed that. Muslims in Pakistan are also realizing the (non)effect of economic prosperity.

Sikhs in India have never faced any oppression and if that had ever happened it happened under Congress rule. (so called secular party). So please do not club Sikhs with muslims. because unlike Muslims, Sikhs had always fought for India and not against India. Infact Sikhs were formed to fight and protect Indian borders from attack from the west (mainly Muslims)

Indians in US face lot less problems since they are mostly highly educated & economically well off.
