The CPI(M) by its adamant attitude has not only lost the leverage but also appears to have been dumped. The UPA will go in full vigour for economic liberalization in the next one year thanks to its winning the confidence motion in the Parliament. By expelling the Speaker, who is constitution bound, the party stands to lose much of its image in the eyes of people who are leaned towards socialism. It will be a double loss.
