attempt to divert attention
by Rajesh Sharma on Jul 24, 2008 12:30 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Speaker is being made scapegoat in an attmept to divert attention of wrong egoistic calculations of Prakash Karat in the first place and CPM following it blindly and foolishly.

Their first instruction to ask Speaker to step down in itself was wrong as anyway in case of a tie Speaker would have cast the vote. So CPM was not losing any vote due Speaker not voting.

Also, having made Mr Chatterjee Speaker, CPM should understand that they are asking him to rise above party not only during Loksabha sessions but for the entire tenure of Speaker.

Left and CPM could not rise to Nations expectations. Hope at least they rise to the expectations of their own cadre.

And if there were a tie as you said, this man would not cast against the UPA government alongwith BJP in his own words. He would have supported the Congress which is again violating the Party's decision to oppose.

Thats speculation.

He had objections for sure but voting against party line is probably, he may not have done considering 40 years of CPM membership. He may have voted earlier also with BJP, when Left and BJP were on the same side.
