Knickerwallah Hypocrisy
by All Right on Jul 24, 2008 10:03 PM   Permalink

However, a scrutiny of cross-voting indicates hardly 5% of those elected to the Lok Sabha defied their party whips. 95% stayed with their respective parties. So maybe it is not correct to paint all with the same brush.

But what is of concern is the hypocrisy of the Left and BJP.

- When a Congress MP defects to the BJP and cross votes - it is moral.
- When 6 SP MPs cross-voted by defecting to the BSP, it is moral.
- When Mayawati threatens to split SP vertically, it is moral.
- When Jaswant Singh goes to Mulayam Singh with a proposal to topple the Government it is moral.
- When Jaswant Singh goes to Mulayam Singh with a proposal to make him PM in exchange for votes for BJP's Presidential candidate - it is moral
- When Yediruppa buys 12 MLAs and makes 9 Ministers, it is moral.

Only when UPA responds in kind, it is immoral. It is this selectvity that smacks of hypocrisy
