I belong to west bengal which is ruled by the the communist since 1977.If you compare the integrity of the true communist with their counterparts in congress, rjd, bjp.sp or bsp ,they are far better. The way budhadeb lead his life it becomes difficult to make out if he is the chief minister or a middleclass bengali. But the problem lies in their vision,in their outlook ,which is serious hindrance to any developmental projects. Just like BJP feels they are the sole torchbearer of patriotism ,simmilarly the communist feel that they are the true representative of the under privileged. If you compare bengal with maharashtra, gujrat.tamilnadu karnataka in economic or social parameters you will realise that they are basically theorist and their actual contribution is big zero. I have seen their crab mentality when they used to oppose computerisation in eighties and now buddhadeb is trying his level best to attract investment in IT SECTOR.The same will hold good for nucleur deal when after twenty years they will say that we have committed a historic blunder

You seem right to good extent. Theory and appearance alone will not help. What common man needs is growth and one should not be left behind the others in growth. We cannot keep our eyes closed to world-wide growth and ever-changing world demands change in us to keep pace with it. If we cannot change, we should atleast let others change for better.

It takes 7-10 years to create or build a Communist. But after that, you cannot change him or reform him till he goes to the grave.
A fundamental concept of the ideology itself is that "It is the only way" to solve all the world's problems. With such a myopic view, they are always completely blind to any alternatives.
