I think the Prime Minister got a chance to get rid of Left parties when Ms Mayawati withdrew support for UPA government. This gave an opening for Samajawadi Party to come closer to Congress as they were not having any say in UP or at centre though they had a handsome number of MPS. The withdrwal of support by BSP to UPA triggered the political realignment of parties. The situation helped Mr.Manmohan Singh push the Nuclear deal as the time was also running out!
