HOW MUCH USEFUL IS THIS DEAL?
by JayBharat on Jul 23, 2008 10:56 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

If we start to construct new Neclear plants we take 10-12 years to finish. NTPC survey says by 2020 Nuclear energy is only 6% of our national energy requirement. It is even though we construct all the planed reactors.
What is our plan to dispose nuclear waste? It is more costlier than producing the energy.
From where do we bring the huge debt to construct the plants and to buy the fuel? Naturaly we are becoming more poor and our loan can not be returned in 200 years.
We have to stop R&D work on thorium reacters as per the agreement. This means that we can use the wast thorium ore resources in our western shores.
How do we stop undercover CIA agents sneeking in to country in teh name of nuclear inspectors?
Finally can not construct nuclear reactor indigenously till today. It is 100% russian technology. Now we have to import from USA.
One can not understand why this govt is in such a hurry to finish the deal?
Why they are not ready to go to people?

Its actually not government's fault or the politicos for that matter ...its the fault of the qualified brains who run from the country at the 1st chance that they get. Had they stayed here or came back at some point of time we wouldnt have been at this stage ...obviously we have to import technology which might have been produced by so NRI sitting overseas and minting money and still blaming politicos for our country's condition!
