Relation b/w Ramasethu, Thorium and Neclear Deal
by peddapuram Babu on Jul 23, 2008 04:41 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

We are rich in Thorium the future of fuel and substitute of Uranium. Ramsethu broke because of thorium not for making shortest route b/w Bay of Bangal and Arabian sea. We are already developed Advacned Heavy Water Reactors which works with thorium where we should go for reprocessing procdure. The N-deal is constraining us "not to go for reprocessing", nothing but our new generation reactors are not going to take off, which uses fuel of the future, Thorium. N-Deals will make us to dump with uranium( studies says which is going to exhsust in 25 years on earth) though not letting us for reporcessing as reporcessed waste plotonium used for N-waepons. By the deal we are not going to utlise our resources, though we have plenty???. We are not safe and allowed to developments further with N-atoms.
what is best ???? Dr.Sing knows , who signed behalf of nation.

get your facts straight. As of no technology is in place for Thorium based reactors. India is cooperating with European countries for Third Generation reactors. Thorium based reactors are Fifth generation reactors, which are going to take minimum 15 more years to develop. Reactors are brick walls that can be constructed in 20 days. It is going to take time. India will take its own time to construct the reactors.
donot over- estimate capabilities of our scientists who work on shoestring budget, even though they are very capable scientists. when time comes we will have thorium reactors.
This deal is not only about nuc energy. Its more about getting out of technology denial regime and getting latest technology, which will help India develop faster and get the share of world attention which we so richly deserve. Hope that Bush pushes it in USA.
Good luck to my country. May it achieve the glory it enjoyed till 14th century
