The BJP has come off the worst. By its unprincipled opposition to the Indo-U.S. nuclear deal, they have lost face and a large part of their support among the middle classes. They need to replace Advani.

They have won the vote in parliament. The Lok Sabha elections will take place early next year. A lot can change by then.
