Democracy is the finest system, but this can work only for countries with quality citizen. At least 90% of Indians are either beggars or plain stupid or illiterate or anti-social or a combination of all. I always felt and experienced that quality people in this country is less than 10 of its population.
The strength and weakness of democracy is that the most critical function of that system (electing a representative) has to be executed by each and every one in the country. As our people are highly incapable of doing this, for the reasons said above, democracy is not the system for us.

Best post i have ever read..but failed to mention one thing..THE REASON FOR 90% INDIANS BEING ILL QUALIFIED IS THEIR OWN ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES(OVER THE LAST 60 YEARS)

Hats off to you! We don't deserve a democracy; it's anarchy totally. We are bloody hypocrites. That is the reason why we don't see any real progress in this country; it's a big bubble which bow off some time.
