Nuclear deal
by deviprasad viswanathan on Jul 23, 2008 01:50 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

It is sad that Rajeev has not read the IAEA safeguards agreement.
1.The safeguards apply to civilian facilities.(Para 11)
2.No agreement would guarantee fuel supplies. Please check if a gas based power plant has guaranteed fuel supply. In a nuclear power plant, the organisation that supplies the equipment also is contracted to supply fuel. Ex Koodankulam in TN.
3.Saying US of A would be benefited is childish, any country with advanced technology in nuclear energy would be benefit. It is like saying, I should not expand my aviation industry because that would benefit Boeing. For the record, France and Russia are more advanced in nuclear power tehcnology and would benefit more.
Remember our honourable ex home minister hislef mentioned post POkhran that INdia does not more tests. Why the sudden need now?

It is not on cap of further nuclear testing by india but to have an option in future.more than
nuclear testing, this agreement makes our nuclear
plants are subjected to the inspection of IAEA countries and let all our secrets go out of our hand.that means you allow me to see your vaults
and lockers at your home.is it acceptable to you
this deal benefits only on short term but kills
sovereiginty of india on long term.
