It is a shame that Dr Manmohan Singh who holds high regard in indian public is involved in such low level politics of bargaining and rewarding. It would have been better on his part to seek a fresh mandate from people of India. His goverment has become one issue government. He should be concentrating on issues like inflation. Dr Singh, learn from Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He chose to seek a fresh mandate than get involved in low level politics of bargaining. Come out of shadow of Sonia Gandhi who can't even speak properly. I doubt if she has any thought process of her own.

The deal is already done. Hence the question of seeking a mandate does not arise. It will be too late for the deal as taking it through the mill in the USA will be very difficult. All this is being done to get the deal indirectly ratified. Really, one had great regard for Dr. MMS but it looks like he is being less than forthright here.

The Joke part of the comment is that a person now collects illegal votes who has not a single vote in Lok Sabha. Deal with Bush is easy job for him; but future deal with people will be bleak.
