Somnath has emerged as a hero in this episode.
He has clearly shown he is not acting as CPM when he is a speaker. By going against Karat's directive, he has clearly shown he has a mind of his own.
He is a very principled guy and had shown his unhappiness at his comrades when they had stopped Basu from trying for PM slot.
Whether he is doing it if he really believes in impartiality of speaker post or he is doing it because he believes India needs power urgently, he has put his stamp right there with MMS.
Cowards with no individuality can not appreciate this point so it is useless to try to argue with them but I will still try.

Fabulous piece.......you are right in saying that Somnath is a hero. Absolute hero!

He will go down in history as the man who held Indian parliament together during this historic vote.

And, believe me, there is going to be a complete realignment of forces where the BJP will be the biggest loser.
