Trust Vote Debate in Lok Sabha - An analysis.
by jamsheed basha abumohammed on Jul 21, 2008 08:49 PM   Permalink

The debate in the Lok Sabha was started today with the PM moving the motion seeking confidence of the House on the Ministry. PM very briefly narrated the sequences leading to the withdrawal of support by the Left that forced to seek the vote of confidence. LK Advani replying to the debate, was sarcastic in his tirade against the PM.He chided the PM for his inability to vote for the motion as he was the member of Rajya Sabha. Speaking onthe Nuke deal, he alleged there was a complete sell out of India's interest. It was an agreement not between two nations but between two individuals. What he has forgotton is the fact, nation is always represented by its PM and when any deal is discussed or signed, it would between the two individuals on behalf of respective nations. Such a simple equation was not understood by Advani, was unfortunate. On energy security, he failed to suggest ways but was quick to criticise the hype about the nuke energy which would not be sufficient to meet all the needs of the country. Who said it was totally taking over from the conventional and non-conventional sources.PM said that this energy being clean would be a supplemental to the conventional energy and non-conoventional energy source till they are depleted or completely exhausted.Coal may be cheaper, but our mines are not totally ready to supply the required quality and or quantity in future. Therefore India has to import coal in large quantity. So is case of hydro, wind and solar energy limited source.
