If nuclear deal goes through, India's energy needs will be fully met, Nuclear energy is infinite energy though it more costly by 20% to 50% than coal or hydro electricity. More and more industries can be started, lot of employment can be generated for people and there will be overall improvement of life of people. There is possibility that India can become an economic superpower like Japan or USA. Regarding security, when India gradually become an economic superpower, more and more i.e. 10 times more conventional weapons, 10 times more missiles, 10 times more fighter planes and 10 times more nuclear weapons can be built. More navy ships and more submarines, more fighter planes can be built or purchased. India had already exploded nuclear weapons. When India gradually becomes a economic superpower, govt. will have more money, hundreds or thousands of missiles with nuclear and conventional warheads can be built. No country will raise a hand against India. Now it is necessary that, India's energy needs are to be met and India had to become an economic superpower. Massive build up of weapons (nuclear and conventional) can be taken up gradually in future. China or Pakistan will never dare to attack India, as India is a nuclear power and nuclear missiles can reach Bejing. If nuclear deal goes through, India likely to become an economic superpower as well as military superpower or mini military superpower in future. There will also be an option to buy gas from Iran in addition to nu

YOU R A BIG DREAMER...TRY TO UNDERSTAND THAT THE DEAL WHICH IS BEING PUSHED THROUGH BY THE GOVT EVEN ACCORDING TO THEM WILL SATISFY ONLY 4-5% OF OUR ENERGY NEEDS. THEN WHY PUT OUR SOVEREIGNITY AT STAKES FOR IT. SIMILAR DEALS ENTERED IN TO BY CHINA AND JAPAN IF VIOLATED WILL ATTRACT ONLY ARBITRATION BY INTERNATIONAL AGENCIES GOVERNED BY INTERNATIONAL LAWS. IN OUR CASE ITS THE AMERICAN LAW THAT WILL PREVAIL...IN SHORT OUR FOREIGN POLICIES WILL BE DIRECTED BY THE USA. THE LEFT PARTIES WERE RIGHT IN OPPOSING IT. KUDOS TO THEM AT LEAST THEY HAVE NOT WITHDRAWN SUPPORT FOR NOT GETTING ANY MINISTERIAL BERTH OR OTHER POSTS. THE ISSUE RAISED BY THEM OUGHT TO HAVE BEEN ANSWERED TO THE PEOPLE BY THE GOVT. EVERYTHING WAS DONE IN A VERY HASTY AND SECRET MANNER ONLY FOR OUR PM TO FULFILL HIS COMMITMENT TO THE US PRESIDENT. WHO CARES ABOUT THE COMMITMENT GIVEN TO THE PEOPLE. LET US FIRST ENSURE FOOD AND CLEAN DRINKING WATER FOR EVERY INDIAN AND THEN BECOME AND THEN TALK ABOUT BECOMING A MILITARY SUPER POWER....JUST GET INTO THE STREETS AND LOOK AT THE REALITY MAN...WE STILL HAVE MILLIONS STARVING FOR FOOD, CLOTH AND SHELTER AND A HUGE MIDDLE CLASS STRUGGLING TO MAKE BOTH ENDS MEET. WAS IT REALLY NECESSARY FOR THE CONGRESS TO GO FOR A TRUST VOTE FOR THE SAKE OF THE NUCLEAR DEAL WHEN THE MASSES OF THE COUNTRY ARE TOILING UNDER RISING INFLATION. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE A SUPER POWER INDIA WHERE EVERY INDIAN HAS HIS BASIC NEEDS FULFILLED NOT THE SUPER POWER WHICH CAN BOAST OF NUCLEAR POWER WHEN PEOP

Thanks Look at the scenario. Every one talk of politics and number game. They forget the basic issue. Here is the winner -the N-deal.
Let every MP be in the know of all the details of N-deal. Starting from the surrendering of India's sovereignty and independence. The hidden and undemocratic and unethical moves by the congress. Deceitful handling of the whole subject. They are answerable to the people during the next election.
All these kala-bulee is for the sake of just 10% max of total energy at a total cost of 3 lakh crores of rupees scheduled to be spent in 20 years crippling the financial system of India. The waste disposal and safety against radiation is the biggest problem -technically and financially. Twenty years from now Uranium will be a rare material!! The congress is in for any kind of 'back-door deal' to gain support from anybody in the parliament.
It is unpardonable to divide society vertically for the sake of a N-deal -'sign-off' of our sovereignty and freedom. All the good works done by congress will be made opaque by this single act. Let the present congress leaders emulate the old generations of congress leaders who lead freedom movement. At the moment I can only pray to God to give them good sense and allow them to think without prejudice and biases.
Why this 'undue haste'?
Let a VIDURA be born in congress to guide them.
Prestige of an individual is nothing when we talk of NATIONAL INTEREST.

If other issues are more important than N-deal, shouldn’t the opposition focus on them as well. Why is it that they have a voice only for the N deal. Is it because they can claim false patriotism just like in Pakistan every party has does by bringing the Kashmir issue. We need to be economically strong to maintain our sovereignty. Just look at the former USSR. They had the military powers to match US and its allies. But in the end economic misery made them beg from all nations.

Tell this to Ajit Singh, Devi Gowda, Mayawati, Chandrabiabu, and others biggies like BJP and SS. They have nothing to do with N-Deal, they are all targeting the Kursi,or are in the process of making crores in the name of the deal. If Sharad Pawar has said that the govt. would not fall, then it will not fall. that is money power. Manmohan will laugh in the end. the last laugh.

Myth #11: India needs more nuclear power to assure its energy future.
Fact: Nuclear power has been virtually insignificant in India’s energy mix in the past, and will be no more important in the future. India has been generating electricity with nuclear reactors for more than 40 years. Yet, reactors supply only 2% to 3% of its electricity today. India has not built more reactors because they have not turned out to be as safe, or as clean, or – most important – as economical as originally thought. Even if India were to achieve a 50% increase in nuclear power generation (which is unlikely) such a step would only increase India’s overall electricity output by one percent at most, and would only increase India’s overall energy output by a fraction of one percent. That is not a significant increase in the energy available to India and would not decrease India’s demand for oil and gas.
