IT APPEARS THAT SOMNATH CHATTERJEE IS CLOSING HIS EYES ON THE PAST. HE HAS NOT REACHED THE POST OF THE LOK SABHA SPEAKER RIGHT FORM HIS MOTHER'S WOMB. HE WAS ASSOCIATED WITH A POLITCAL PARTY AND THAT PARTY HAS CHOSEN AS THEIR REPRESENTATIVE TO LOKSABHA FOR SEVERAL TERMS AND THAT PARTY CHOSEN HIS NAME AS SPEAKER JUST TO ENSURE THE CONG AND UPA THAT THEIR ISSUE BASED SUPPORT TO CENTRE IS A SERIOUS ONE. NOW SINCE HIS PARTY FELT THAT THE CONG AND UPA IS NOT GIVING ANY CREDIT TO THE ISSUES POINTED OUT BY THEM, HIS PARTY HAS WITHDRAWN THE SUPPORT. HENCE, IT WAS / IS EXPECTED THAT THE SPEAKER WILL QUIT HIS POST. BUT CLINGING ON THE SPEAKER'S POST CLAIMING CONSTITUTIONAL REASONS IS A PROOF THAT HE HAS ALSO BECOME A VICTIM OF PARLIAMENTARY OPPORTUNISM. PUTTING HIS INDIVIDUAL EGO ABOVE HIS PARTY WILL BE A FOOLISH ACT. HE WILL REALIZE THE SAME SOON.

Nair, etiquette demands that you do not use Capital letters. It amounts to shouting.
I believe that Speaker's position is neutral etc is hogwash. Som babu remains a CPM guy fundamentally and he needs to understand that and respect that. The Speaker duties can always be taken over by the standby person.

Speaker by way of his sticking to the office proves that he is also part of the capitalist parliamentary system. Every politician involving in the bourgeois parliament will have a lust of power and position. Somnath Chatterjee was an elected MP representing CPI(M). He was not elected as MP and Speaker on his personal merits, but truly as a CPI(M) leader. He also must need to learn dialectical science as his grasp of marxism-leninism is very shallow and revisionist. He must need to learn the political relevance of fighting imperialism globally by aligning with all anti-imperialist forces on national level. If the speaker still sticks to his continuance in office, a marxist leninist party will take an appropriate action against the errant. He is not above the party and every party member must follow the party ideals and constitution. Somnath should never be a toy playing in the hands of Manmohan - UPA - Yankee clique.
