Nuclear deal- Shifting slavery
by Rajan Sodankur on Jul 21, 2008 12:25 PM   Permalink

This deal would just shift Indian society's energy slavery to the oil producing countries to nuclear fuel producing countries, just as we don't have the complete infra structure or nuke fuel supply security. If nuclear supplies have not brought energy security and prosperity to those who offer to sell them, it is foolish to think it will bring us securoty and prosperity. Give our public and private and even multi-national companies, in India like Reliance, Tatas,L & T, BHEL, CEL, ABB, Suzlon, NTPC, Suzlon a free hand-they can work wonders in upgrading our Indian coal to environ friendly gaseous and liquid fuels, net work all kinds of renewable energies like wind, hydro, tidal, solar thermal and solar photovoltaic, biomass, bio-gas; and the international oil and nuclear cartel will collapse. Don't expect the dirty politicans to lead us into this bright alternative future; we need to support and encourage the right thinking Indian and NRI scientists and engineers along this line. Once we are determined and pursue this goal even foreign venture capaitalist would make a beeline to India to share the bigger energy cake.
