Kindly refrain from making personal comments about the PM. The word 'alleged' is in very poor taste. Everybody is entitled to his opinion. But being derogatory is better avoided

Mr. Thanappan, It is distasteful for you to be derogatory for an upright person like Manmohan Singh just because you are opposed to his political leanings. As to answering the other part of your "charges", it is pertinent to recall that the global oil prices are not in any Indian's hand. It is not for an Indian to stop the diversion of rich agriculture land in the US Mid-West regions to bio-fuel. It is also not in the hands of any Indian that the rich agricultural lands of Australia have experienced drought for the last 4 years or so. It also cannot be said to be the fault of Manmohan that he has diverted a huge amount of money for feeding those who are the most destitute in this nation of ours thru the NREG Scheme. It is a different thing altogether that we have systemic failures and failures of Character in people who are charged with the responsibility of implementing the scheme. I would agree that there are better ways to implement schemes meant for our not-so-well-off citizen bretherens and it would be a great day if blogs like these were used to toss good ideas on these type of issues rather than the usual "rome", congress, bjp, hindutva dribble that usually gets written about from people who need to be more upbeat about their country than be a drag and a professional whiner.
