UPA confident - BJP sulking
by jamsheed abumohammed on Jul 18, 2008 08:09 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

The Congress on Friday claimed that it has the support of 280-plus MPs, which would ensure its victory in the confidence vote in the Lok Sabha on July 22. Moily added that this news would give sleepless nights both to BJP and Left. BJP is sulking, it is for sure, that is why they are resorting to horse trading. This issueless party gambled on the stand taken by Left and it would left speechless on July22. Left house is divided with Somnath is firm refused to toe the line of Karat. Basu and others are with him on his principled stand of noting voting with communal forces led by BJP. The irony is Karat has not fully understood the undercurrent of such a move. His own Bengal has seen a mini-rebellion with Muslims MLAs and MPs opposing the stand taken by Karat so much so he skipped the proposed rally in Bengal recently. Similar rift is possible elsewhere in Kerala. Muslim MPs cutting across partylines are fully behind the UPA Govt and the Nuke deal. This has put to rest of the anger of this community for the deal. May be Shia community in UP or elsewhere would be angry and not Sunni who are fully with the national interest. BJP reading the writings on the wall trying hard to bargaiin for support which is not coming as expected. The main issues of price rise and inflation were receded to the background on the backdrop of the Nuke deal. Congress is willing to sacrifice the Govt as this would help them to refurbish their sulking image in public over issues of price rise, inflation.

Probably, like Veerappa Moily, u r also a congress spokes person. There is a saying " empty pot makes more noise."

Since Congress is not able to muster enough MPs, to divert the attention of public at large (whose hard earned money and collected by Govt as taxes is being distributed at will by Congress, SP etc. and thugs locked up in jail being permitted to participate in confidence vote poll)they have to trumpet about getting majority.

Congress has failed in all counts - inflation, GDP growth etc. and now finally is going to sulk after the defeat on 22nd.

Probaly, Congressmen are having sleepless nights which they cannot admit so they have to point out the main opposition.
