No gains here for the BJP
by A K Singh on Jul 19, 2008 10:25 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

While it is correct to assume that Congress stands to lose regardless of the outcome of the trust vote, how the BJP or the NDA stands to gain; is beyond comprehension.
Since everything is being evaluated in terms of the electoral benefits, BJP or NDA CANNOT form the Government at the Center unless BJP wins at least 30 seats in U.P., and this is just not going to happen. Hardly one person in a million feels the need to understand the implications of the N-Deal, and hardly one in one million such people would cast their votes. So as far as the election results are concerned, the fate of the N-Deal does not matter.
The only person to gain in this scenario is Bahenji. She can snatch a siezable portion of Muslim votes from Mulayam, to be able to become the King or Quee-nmaker in 6 months, and to be the queen herself after another one year.

If Congress & Mulayam have a alliance in U.P they will get more votes in U.P then Maywati.

No, they will not. Votes seldom add arithmetically. Muslims are waiting to shift their loyalty to BSP.
If SP and Congress do not ally, Bahenji is quite strong. If they ally, Bahenji will come out stronger.
