When we take some allopathic medicine, we know that there would be side effects also, but still we take the medicine because otherwise the survival itself would become difficult. Likewise, today Nuclear energy is important for the country and we should not be bothered of the side effects

Do you know that, to have one Nuclear reactor in place, it will take 4 years ? and the generated energy will cost 30 times than the energy produced from Coal ?

n how long do u expect coal reserves to support us ??? with oil n other fuels recording spirallin high prices...only such sources can help us... i agree it will be costly but atleast we will have some thing to support us instead of sittin in darkness...
wind , solar n hydro projects are unreliable as they are climate dependent...we cant rely on them

Yes thats the point, we have to spend 250 Billion $ to have 10 Nuclear plants in 10 years time. The developed world is engaging heavily in R&D to find relaible alternative energy. ( commercially viable and weather independednt) and we are begging for their outdayed technology We should put our efforts for R&D so that atleast we will be par with west in new greene energy area

There is no reliable technology other than the nuclear one.. People are working on the other ways.. We need energy NOW. You know the meaning of NOW?.. we cannot wait for a distant star.. Catch a bus and move on..

I fully agree with you. However, there are certain clauses which need clarification and transperancy.

The bay area ( silicon valley) will be spending 2 triilion $ in teh coming 5 years for finding alternative green energy ( including companies like google) and we are fighting here for outdated Nuclear Technology.

Mr. Raj, India doesnt have that kinda money to spend on R&D...we need power soon, not after 30 years. R&D is non-reliable...results might or might not come.So we need nuclear energy. Explain one thing, if nuclear energy is outdated why does France use it? They are a developed nation right? Because right now the best 'available' alternative is nuclear energy. Yes, this will benefit US & European firms but it will benefit Indians too. In a deal, both parties need benefits, otherwise it can never be sucessful.
If Google and co. manage to develop an alternative, it will b great but what if they dont...we remain in the dark while LA and NYC are lit up like its Diwali every night!

1)If after so much R&D also we dont got source. 2)Who said u nuclear source is out dated detail we dont have 5% technology of that outdated product. 3)We are loosing lot big investment because of power crisis. 4)Go to vidharbha and see farmers are commiting sucides as no rain and no power to cultivate land there is lot of vilages getting only 4 hrs power...... 5)if no power what u will do with all this already installation........
