Why is everyone abusing Bengalis? Call them bongs etc. its so funny that Mumbai has the largest slums, Delhi the most disgustging place with killer buses, thieves everywhere...asking astronomical rates for anything, autu guys refusing to go by meter, and you say calcutta is bad...are you guys bunch of pansies? Other cities are not plagued with problems? why keep blaming kolkata? Communism is over in the next elections...Left is going from bengal but i/m sure the rest of india would still go at criticising the city...

Bro Its a common practice man .... There was a survey in "The Hindu" ..it shows tht more than 60% of the top corporate positions are occupied by either Bongs or Mallus.... Calcutta has produced 4 of the 5 Nobel Lauriates in India ( Rabindranath Tagore, C.V. Raman, Mother Theresa, Amartya Sen), Calcutta has produced the only oscar winner in India (Satyajit Ray)....The Calcutta Book fair is the largest of its kind in the world ...it is treated as the cultural Capital of India ....so Calcutta and Bengal is way ahead as far as intellectuality is concerned ..... the people who abuse are either jealous or ignorant ... But there is no harm calling Bengalis "Bong" like Malayalis are called "Mallus" and Gujrathis "Gujju" ...these are not abusive languages anyway
