These 2 senior communists leaders Jyothi basu and Somnath chatterjee are chamchas of Sonia gandhi. They want to continue the alliance with the congres in the future too. It appears that there is a strong division in the CPM one group is favouring an open alliance with the congress and another group is against any alliance with congress party.

Life time opposition of Congress by Jyoti Basu and group was just a fake. Jyoti Basu and Somnath Chatterjee had wine many times at 10 Jan-path (Nehru-Gandhi family).
