Nuclear Deal

The benefits of nuclear deal are that India is very much likely to become an economic superpower like Japan & USA, solve electricity shortage problems, more factories can be started, more employment can be generated, overall economic improvement of people will take place. Now India had already successfully exploded nuclear weapons, more and more missiles and nuclear weapons can be built in due course of time when India gradually becomes an economic superpower. Further India can build and buy more and more conventional weapons (read 10 times of present level of conventional weapons, 10 times present fighter aircraft and 10 times more missiles and 10 times more nuclear weapons when India becomes an economic superpower. No country will raise a hand on India and we will have more than sufficient weapons to crush any regional agressor. There is no need to panic of chinese or pakistan attack, as Indian misslies with nuclear warheads can reach Bejing. It is unlikely that China will attack India, as India has nuclear weapons & missiles. Now India had to become a economic superpower like USA, Japan, China. Further more research can be carried out using Thorium as fuel which India has in plenty. New reactors can be designed using Thorium as fuel. As far as I understood not much research was carried out in the world as huge reserves of Uranium was found in the world. It is unlikely that China or Pakisthan will attack India, as India is a nuclear power and India has missiles and nuclear

The fact about Nuclear power is: Increase in power production through nuclear energy is from 2.6% to 5.5% of total power produced in India after 20 years. Expenditure is $120 Billion not including the re-organisation expenses. And driving the disappointed scientists to other countries as proffesors to sell the latest research developments.

Where do you get these future percentage numbers? Is this the basis of your argument?
At this time, current power generation is 132,000 MW. Maybe it will double by 2020(not sure). Nuclear power is projected to be 20,000 to 40,000 MW by 2020. Still that would make this anywhere from 7.6% to 15% by 2020.
Note also, even 20,000 MW which is lower projected range is about 15% of today's energy which is quite big.
Lastly, do you know currently, nuclear reactors are running at half the capacity in India?
