This is an important landmark decision. MMS is ahead of time. When he was implementing liberalization, there was similar talk as being done by the opposers now. All sorts of baseless conspiracy theories were thrown around then as are now. But in the end, he was proved correct as the results of India growing by 8-9% since then show. This is the same thing, lot of poor mis-informed souls are talking and opposing as if they know more about nuclear systems than esteemed scientists like Kalam and others. People opposing this come up with mis-information(some of it ridiculous) like: - World Uranium deposits will end by 2030 - US wants to sell off old equipment to India - India has enough Uranium till 2010. - US will make billions. - It takes 10-20 years to setup a nuclear plant etc etc. A little bit of research can quickly discount all the above nonsense. Even reactors do not have to be bought from US. Any of 45 NSG countries will do. India can easily select the most efficient systems.
Instead of coming up with unlimited conspiracy theories, we should look at the benefits of nuclear cooperation. India can generate 20000 to 40000 MW of power from Nuclear in next 12 years. Compare it to current total capacity of 132000 MW and you will see how much it is. France generates 75% of it's energy from Nuclear and Japan 40%, US 15%. UK, china etc are talking about installing more latest nuclear reactors.

It i really a controversial decission whether India is going to accept the nuclear deal or not? but what really matters is that as India is becoming a business hub on par with top countries it needs the electric supply to run the companies in the long run.. our own capital of India Delhi is suffering from the short of supply and frequent power cuts.If that is the case with the capital then imagine the case with other cities and towns. This may be the one of the case that other Countries are getting benifitted as many international companies setting up the base in their region. I wonder if the politicians are aware of this fact?

yesterday natinal geographay telecast of many solar plants operations in usa which has more than 2000 solar plants to produce electricity. in the past five years, nuclear plants have not been set up in many countries and we have to follow the example of brazil, argentina which are more or less same size of india which have not invested money in nuclear plants.shortage of uranium fuel, laws governing the sale of enriched unranium, high cost of production, problem of nuclear accidents to release radiation like it happened in russia. instead we could follow solar plants which is getting more popular in american now. american wants to sell all old machineries to india with loan and dispose underground nuclear enriched fuel ready to make atomic bomb which now they think is of no use in the absence of cold war with russia or china. so they want to sell those enriched fuel and heavy water for which they have invested huge money.heavy water is used as moderator in nuclear fusion to bring out the energy to produce electicity. disposal of nuclear waste would be a problem. why indias nuclear plants are now working below the capacity of power production. why thorium which india has got good potential( at present exporting to many countries from tuticorin and cochin )can not be used as fuel? let MMS use his own brain(?) instead of listening to bush. 10 years ago,due to fear of AIDS,americans wanted to use only hand gloves and big demand for rubber gloves.malasiya, indoneisa, india

If you do not know with facts please keep quite. If India want to produce power out of solar energy, we have to put solar panels in an area covering the 4 biggest states! Is that practically feasible?

what a brilliant guy u r. are ready to agree 123 agreement? the above statements r correct only, we should allow americans enter in our nuclear plant.
