Why secrecy, subterfuge and un-truths??
by Ezhumalayan on Jul 15, 2008 12:12 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Forget BJP and Left and politics. If the deal is so helpful to India, why tell lies in the parliament? Why not be open and truthful to people of India from day one? Why keep away truth from the people, while it is available in the net? May be PM and congress thinks, Indians are not smart enough yet to understand their motives.

It is not only barking dogs - the Left and BJP who are opposing the deal.

There is a huge and very powerful lobby - the non-profileration activists - who are lobbying and attacking the deal.

So the government though transparent at times had to take a call on when to make documents public.

But despite it, the bottom-line is whether the text of the agreement is beneficial to the country? The consensus is that it is. The Left and BJP therefore do not attack the text. But rakes up procedural deficiencies like the one you raised.
