The way this govt. is pushing hard it is evident that there are megabucks for the party to fight the next elections. What this stupid sardar is trying to convince 100 crore Indians is that nuclear energy is the only solution to India's power crisis. Also if we don't ally with US, we are doomed. Did you not forget Chernobyl or for that matter our own Bhopal Tragedy. Nuclear energy is hazardous as well as expensive (May be Rs. 50 per unit going by the latest inflation stds). There is also no way we can ever dispose the radioactive waste that is left over. Why isn't our govt not pursuing tidal energy or solar energy or wind energy. These modes are non polluting, non hazardous and perpetual. Also several unemployed youth can get a means of income. Do not get swayed by what this sardar says. Each and every Indian must oppose this Nuclear Deal.

The nonconventional sources of energy like solar tidal etc can giveus a miniscule amount of our total energy need, much less than 55 even if we utilize them fully. The energy that can be derived from Thorium/Uranium breeder reactor will give us a perpetual supply of energy at minimum cost, once the teething troubles are sorted out, which our Scientists are capable of doing.When petroleum, gas and coal will be exhausted in the near future, then the energy supplied from the breeder reactors, which require Thorium,which we already have and Uranium which we have to import through IAEA agencies will be the only solution. We have to be prepared for that , before the time runs out. Those who say we have sufficient Uranium are not aware of facts. bishnu sen

A knife can also cut you, if you do not know how to use it. And if you use properly, you can work with it in kitchen. If you use un-appropriately, you can kill somebody.
