Horse Trading in Parliament - Very unfortunate
by jamsheed abumohammed on Jul 14, 2008 07:37 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

The CPI leader Mr.Bardan has alleged that horse trading is going on in the capital ahead of the Trust Vote on 22nd July. As a result many top companies are playing their part. Now one MP is priced at Rs.25 crores. If what is reported is true, it is unfortunate and would sully the fair name of Parliament in the comity of nations. It may be recalled that when Janata Dal Govt was seeking vote of Confidence and when it was brought to the notice of the then PM,Morarji Desai, that each MP is traded for a lakh or two, he warned against such practices. He even declared that whoever wishes to go, he is free to do so, and that there is no need to spend money on such people. That was the character of the then PM.If our PM who is known for his character and who became PM by chance imbibes the great quality of Morarji Desai, he must tender his resignation before the trust vote rather than his party or allies indulging in such horse trading. He could not stop it as he is not influencial but atleast he can put in his papers for the sake of his own honour and integrity. The news of horse trading is certainly a disturbing news and that has receded the Nuke Deal to the background. Marxists are busy trading charges against Cong-SP combine while this sordid game is being played in the background. Where is the prestige involved here. PM and Sonia stood for a cause which is so dear to the country and if the Govt is to fall on this score, let it fall. People would definitely vote them back to power.
