The behaviour of the left parties reminds me of a person who has a big family to look after and has his only job as the source to feed it. However ,one day with a small dispute with his seniors,he quits the job for the sake of his so called principles. the family intially stands behind that person, praises him .however gradually starts criticising him as the funds influx goes on diminishing and this guy doesn't try out for another job but goes to public saying how he protected & safeguarded his principles not even caring his job and income. People ,on the face praise him and on his back criticise him. But this foolish guy is in his own world. Eventually his family starves, children starts begging, have to give up studies, valuesables in the house are to be sold..but this person is still enjoying the booze of kicking his job for sake of principles. The left party and especially Mr. Prakash karat is that adamant person in this story.

Yes, you are possibly right but what option the LEFT has got? If they would have supported the Nuclear Deal, then you will say Lefts are traitors.
You are right about options but wrong about motives.
The time was right to break free. Election camadarie would not work in their ruled states. Word has come of their campaign efforts.
They are frankly admitting they did not quit because of the nuclear deal but the lack of transparency (remember lies by Pranab)was the last straw on the people's back. Previous bushels were inflation, etc, etc. which the people are eating up.
I admire their political (not developmental) strategy which is better than the others. Isn't it all about politics.
But for lack of a better choice, they are the rung holders, stirrup standers and lash abusers. They cannot take anything further or initiate anything. They are traitors but they are doing all the correct things.
