What a fall for the Congress
by Ezhil Maran on Jul 15, 2008 07:44 PM   Permalink

In 2004, after assuming power, the Congress led UPA strutted around arrogantly and Sonia Gandhi was the Chief Priestess. She had the authority to snub anybody [except Kalam whom she dared not snub]. The story of Amar Singh is well known. She ingratiated herself to the Left leaders, Surjeet and Basu and won their admiration and support. She never imagined that one day things will turn around. Today she is desperate to save her Government, and she is prepared to meet anyone if it help save the Govt. The insult to Amar Singh was forgotten [ or rather swallowed her pride ]. Gone are the moral posturings. Today even a single MP is valuable and so horse trading is on. The sundry smaller parties which did not get merit even a glance from the Congress all these years are suddenly in favour. Not to mention the criminal MPs.

What a fall ! But then this is nothing new. Remember the JMM and the Congress in 1991-96?
