If you do not know about deal, do not question it. France might have come with deal but it would be only with France. What USA is offering, npt only tech but its allowing India to trade in nuclear technology which is only allowed to 45 nations. All these states have signed NPT which India has not. India as per International law, can not trade in nuclear fuel and tech. Its dependent on some countries Russia, France who can give limited tech and fuel to India. And thats why India has not able to produced much nuclear energy. Whenever it needs fuel or advanced tech, International laws do not let India trade in these. Russia and France are also bound to International laws. This deal will open doors for India to get fuel, tech and let her trade this with all 45 countries.

Under the watchful safeguards of IAEA of course, with the impending Article XII A-7, XII C., and XIX of the Statutue of IAEA hanging like the sword of damocles over India's head..

Have you also thought about: a) India being reduced to a non nuclear weapon state under the IAEA safeguards; and b) India's Throium reserves coming under the purview of the IAEA safeguards... ?

I bet you didn't...

Could you spell out the details of Article XII A-7, XII C., and XIX of the Statutue of IAEA ? I have read all the 130 clauses of the draft IAEA on rediff and I do not find anything objectionable so as to term it anti-national and a betrayal. In fact, the terms appear to be very pro-India and am surprised that the whole draft was in consultation with the IAEA!
ManMohan was RIGHT in not sharing the same with the LEFT as making them public would raise much more stink in the West with the Ayatollahs of peace over there!
