Jitendra Chowksi.....A few questions to all suddenly doubting BJP!
by Vikas Bhatt on Jul 12, 2008 07:59 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

It is possible BJP opposes Nuclear Deal for the sake of opposing. But if they oppose it with Left on floor it doesn't mean an alliance with Left. Both have different reasons for voting against. Left is opposed to USA per se and has no idea why it is oppsoing save to please China. BJP is NOT opposing the deal but some aspects which seek to bind India's rights to test Nuclear weapons [And we know Pak forces us to test once a couple of decades]. Also I wonder if you know more about the Nuclear deal than a party like BJP responsible for establishing relations with USA at all levels. There is an issue of safe disposal of used fuel without damaging environment. Than the issue of reactors breaking down close to civilian towns where set up as was the case of nuclear accidents in USA and USSR in 80s. Than the cost of it. After an investment of nearly 5 billion per reactor and 15 years before those energy generators operate, do we have that kind of money to give such expensive energy to our masses for a deal that will only serve 7% of our energy requirements? Our fiscal deficits will be severely strained even as we struggle to invest enough money for strengthening public education and healthcare.....Remember the members who control Nuclear technology in NSG have not set up more reactors for mroe than 15 years now themselves. If Nuclear energy is the way than why are the controlling developed nations not converting all their power needs to same? Let us not behave like frogs in well.

Also RSS sympathizing with Left is a clever ploy.........to further the divide between Left and UPA against Congress. It doesn't mean they will join hands. Left has openly always critisized BJP as being a communal party to win Muslim votes and there is no room left now [pun intended] for them to support them anymore as it would kill whatever confidence they have in Kerala. So there can be no alliance here. One should not read too much into foolish media reports. There is no harm if BJP adds some fuel to fire for UPA by supporting Left on it's humiliation. It is a clever ploy to create a catch-22 situation for Left where they cannot oppose RSS's stand or neither join hands with them even as it creates a fear within UPA that BJP may get Left support in the future. It is a clever divide and rule ploy that the Left-UPA have mastered in the political arena. Let them have a taste of their own medicine!

BJP opposing because they saw a reason and opportunity to make hay while the sun shines.
RSS comment has to be seen in a different perspective. They did see it through their own colored saffron glass. They just commented what has gone wrong between the alliance partners and what is the reason for one to move out. Vikas commented here saying that its clever ploy. No. In that case left withdrawing now is a clever ploy as they do not want to be associated with high inflation, price rise and other ills affecting the nation at this time and they have conveniently washed off their hands.
RSS has reasons to comment without taking sides. Yes, they will share this insight with BJP during elections to exploit the situation. exploiting the situation is left to BJP and not RSS.
commenting for the sake of commenting is not a good idea.
