Time for Kashmiris to wake up
by Yash Bhatnagar on Jul 13, 2008 02:21 AM   Permalink

For the record - I love India and love my muslim brothers. I have great friendships with a lot of muslims. I interact a lot with Kashmiri muslims - who I believe are inherently secular. Unfortunately, their so called leadership in Yaseen Malik, Geelani etc is leading them nowhere. If they would rather be a part of Pakistan than India - then obviously their motives are selfish. No one in their right mind whether Muslim or not can honestly say that they would have a better life in Pakistan. Pakistan as a state is failing - surviving on handouts of America, religious turmoil between Shias and Sunnies, regular violence between the so called Muhajirs and the indigenous Pakistanis, the regular tribal warfare - and to top it all they want to create trouble in India - to gain what - I can not understand.

It is time that the Indian leadership exposed the Hurriyet leadership of Kashmir - how can Yaseen Malik who is an unemployed undergraduate coming from a poor family afford regular trips to America - he has no known source of income.
