Inspite of All Hindu Religions being called Sects, Sikhism has been called by the NEHRUVIAN historians as a Minority Religion.
And thus to show hindus down, a lot of History has been Masked off.

If Jijiya was so beneficial, PAK and Bangladesh would have done the Same. To mask off the valiant defense & offense of Hindus against Muslims - The Effect of Which is that India today is Still 85% Hindu - The Nehruvian Historians declare that Jijiya was imposed and No forced Conversions happenned as Jijiya was lucarative. That concept is a Big Myth Created by the Historians.
Pre-MK Gandhi Hindus were so valiant that even Women Fought against the Evil Forces. Example Rani of Jhansi. It was only the Traitors of India like Sikhs who joined forces with the British in 1857, that India still has Maino Rule.

Like Jainism, Buddhism, Vaishnavism, Saivism, Shaktism, etc, Sikhism is just another Religion of India. The Original is Sanathana Dharma represented even today by Smarthaism.
Marxist historians called some of them Sects. And Some of them Minority Religions. Sikhism is just another religion of Sanathana Dharma. Sikhs were not born out of thin Air.

First of all, let it be clear that Sikhs were naturally drawn from Hindus by Guru Nanak. And to add to TheOneAndOnly's history knowledge, I have the following (though compiled from other history sources)-
Bulle Shah a very renowned and respected Sufi Saint said:
"Na kahun ab kee, na kahun tab kee, agar na hote Guru Gobind Singh, to sunnat hoti sab kee."
I talk about neither yesterday nor tomorrow; I talk about today. Had Gobind Singh not been there, They would all be under Islamic sway.
Had Guruji's younger sons been pressurized into accepting Islam today Hindustan would not be a Hindu majority.
What I am asserting is that without Sikhs, the story would have been very different on the Indo-Gangetic plains.
It would have been the same story as in:
1.) Hindu Kingdoms of Afghanistan 2.) Hindu Kingdoms of Java 3.) Great Civilisation of Ancient Persia pre Islamic Arab Invasion 4.) Cradle of Civilisation Babylon/Mesopotamia pre Islamic Arab Invasion 5.) Ancient Christian Civilisation of Asia Minor pre Islamic Turk Invasion 6.) Christian World of North Africa pre Islamic Arab Invasion
How can you deny our overwhelming contribution to salvaging the inhabitants of the Indo-Gangetic plains?
The Indo-Gangetic plains in the popular vernacular is called the Cow Belt - Sikhs are still highly respected (esp. UP, Bihar)

I ask you this
Were or were not Sikhs Critical asset north of the Vindhyan range. Could Indian Civilisation north of vindhyan range had survived without Sikhs? Many North Indians will say Sikh contribution was critical - Only Hindus from Haryana & Gujarat would strongly disagree (primarily due to the influence of Arya Samaj). After the Third Battle of Panipat 1761, Maratha power north of the Vindhyan range was broken. In that state of affairs the natural course of history would have been a new Islamic power to rise north of the Vindhyan range beginning in Punjab. Punjab was at least 80% Muslim, and right at the back of Punjab was the Islamic Durrani Empire (Afghan Empire), Islamic Persia, Islamic Mesopotamia & right behind all that was the almost limitless power & strength of Arabs & Turks. But no! Sikhs rose up after the Third Battle of Panipat 1761, and became rulers of the Punjab. Under Maharaja Ranjit Singh Sikhs made Kashmir vassal to them, and when the Sikhs took Peshawar from the Afghans they reversed a 1000 year trend by becoming the first Indians to hit back west to the Iranian plateau. If there was no selfless personality and Sikh Sir Guru Gobind Singh then all Indians would have been Muslims as Aurangzeb was doing forceful conversions of Hindus to Islam.
