gentle man, yes I am asking him the question not u. But I am sure the existing arrangements doesnt guarantee that. You may refer to the Kalpakkam reactor which is the prototpe for thorium based reactors and s supposed to rum with thorium in its third stage (not yet there now).

Hyde act is ofcourse at best is avoided . But when you go for a adeal with US is un avoidable. Hyde act has been signed by China and Russia . There are other acts of US law already many countries benefited from ( Presler amendment etc..)

I am clear understanding of the way fast breeder reactor works and that of thorium fission including the equations with neutron count energy etc . Hence my simple question to Mr PK Ayankar

How he will trigger his thorium when we do not have U-235 reserves fast depleting in this country..

Our reactors got uranium from Russia not NSG and some of our civilian reactors are under IAEA already difference is there is a installation specific agreement with IAEA now. Now with stringent measures being framed Russia cannot supply uranium to India. So, we need to get this IAEA agreement which far better than China's and likes.
Hyde Act governs all the agreements of US not just Indian. 123 agreement is India specific. So, if Hyde act effects Russia, China, Australia, UK and all the other countries it will effect India too. But 123 agreement is India specific giving a lot of advantage as India is not signatory of NPT.
And the one whom u called expert of the matter has shown his affiliation to the biased intentions and revealed nothing about Hyde act.

We have been duped by congress at all time for not revealing the text of the draft which they intend to sign.It is clear that they want to make Indians slaves of West!

It is true that NSG was formed with the initiation from USA after India did the nuclear test. That is correct. Bit the current situation is that Australasia, France and Russia are not at all willing to talk to India till we sign NPT.

Now with new geo political situation US has lost an alley in Pak and want some kind of balancing force in Asia to China and they can not trust any other country that India in current situation. That is reason No 1 why US is ready to sign the deal which is criticized by many Non Proliferation Ayatollahs within and outside US

The second reason being when these tenders are called for, US companies will also get a benefit ( but there is no exclusivity to USA in this)

So definitely USA sees a strategic benefit in it. But i have no problem if they benefit. What India needs is to stockpile as much as imported uranium using the window provided by the deal. There is no guaranty that tomorrow this will hold. But if India can have sufficient big stock of U-235 imported by that time, it will be purely depending on our foreign diplomatic skills to mange the situation. Granted we are not good in that field .Yet once we have enough U -235 in our backyard it is up to our economic muzzle and political will to start re-processing which can be used for Thorium based reactors) or go one step further and do tests on a need basis. The geo politics situation of the future might provide those opportunities for us to do so.

We cant wage war against NSG countries to
