Are we able to safeguard ourselves?

The first attack is on Indian Embassay. Who knows how many more will be there. Nepal is leaning towards China. We are leaning towards US but is US a crook or a friend has to be seen. After constructing nuclear power plants, if the fuel is not available or deliberately jacked up by forward trading what will happen to our plants? If the N-plants are attacked by terrorists what will happen? The N plants will come up only after 20 years and there was no hurry for the PM to announce before taking the people into confidence.
All the parliamentarians together have managed only 25 to 30% of the voting population. What about the rest of the citizens?
If we talk of Democracy of the people,by the people and for the people then we should have a referendum only for nuclear deal. This would have saved about 30K crores which will be wasted in the immediate elections.
Our democracy appears to be Off the people, buy the people and not for the people.
