BJP's stand on N-deal
by mohinder bhatnagar on Jul 08, 2008 03:03 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

BJP has a life time opportunity to spring a surprise. They should sportingly support the N-deal and win the hearts of the countrymen. By doing so, they will hog the limelight and sweep the next elections. They will be seen as the greatest benefactors of the nation, who acted in national interest even though sitting in the opposition. In any case, it's only a matter of only a few months before the general elections. In such a scenario, UPA will be seen as a minority government without any agenda in the remaining period of its tenure.

Hi Mohinder, wonderful suggestion but BJP should
keep it top secret and surprise sonia at the
last moment, she and UPA balance constituents should be kept on tenter hook. this suggestion was conveyed by me at a rediffcom forum 4 months back when Left threatened to pull out and pull down the government. BJP, after this exercise, should massively campaign all over India, field 542 candidates (all constituencies) and win by 2/3rd majority. Only then, meaningful policies and programmes can get implemented and takes Nation to the 2nd Super Power Status. In the meantime, they should promise Uniform Civil Code and scrapping special status to J&K, make Modi as Home Minister (and see the difference of tackling terrorism and naxalism, Ban all Left parties from participating in any kind of elections.

Attack Pak, if required But may not be required as Pak will start respecting India considering the massive majority of our strength.

Jai Hind

am with you when u put it as BJP should support the govt, though am sceptical on the same turning to votes. for the benefit of the nation, its the duty of any national party to support govt at crisis. going by the details that BJP would also have gone it for the nuclear dear if they were in power. supporting the govt could only enhance their image in an arena of logical people.
