Assumption
by arbitary on Jul 09, 2008 02:13 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

How can everyone on this board assume that people held in Guantanamo are terrorists? They are 'alleged' terrorists and are being subjected to torture without any hope of a fair trial. The US government is a supposed to be a beacon to the world on human rights but its policies are being violated in its own backyard.

We Indians have no respect for human life, maybe because there are so many of us. If someone does respect human life and wants to follow the path of justice (like Mr Kadilal) people on this board taunt him. What a shame!

How would any one you like to be locked up in a foreign land without any charges, trial or mode of redressal and be tortured?

There is no proof that any detainees at Guantanamo have been tortured except the lies told by the detainees. What were these detainees (mostly non-Afghans including a Canadian) doing on the battlefields of Afghanistan fighting against and killing American troops? Our mobs in India would have slaughtered such terrorists without hesitation!

Al Qaeda manual tells terrorists that if they are caught, they should allege torture
