Mullayam is exploring the possibility of him becoming the PM. One CPM withdraws support, it may extend outside support to Mullayam and BJP also will extend outside support to Mullayam to keep congress out of power.

Bardhan, has already shown his affection towards Mulayam singh, who played Kalam card softly. Bardhan said the political uncertainty at the Centre and the government's "failure" to check the price rise had raised BJP's hopes of coming to power. "But there are enough secular forces in the country to ensure that the communal forces are kept out of power."
