Advani aspires to become the PM. Before making these comments, he should just think back on the following: 1) THose 13 days of 1998, when BJP tried to save their govt. Did BJP learn any lesson from the Jumbo of TN before they again align with her in 2004. 2) How did BJP managed those 5 years (1999-04), when they ruled. 3) Why all those India shining noises didnt help them to come back to power in 2004. 4) What is their achievement during 1998-04. Atleast MMS, can claim that he has achieved many many things during 1991-96 and during the last 4 years. 5) Can Advani explain what BJP could have done to control the crude price. 6) What is his view on the N deal. BJP is a stupid group, particularly post Vajpayee, it has become the gangsters' aprty. JAi Hind

Munis, you seem to have let your hatred for BJP overshadow facts. I don't admire the BJP's brand of politics and I feel it is not in the interests of the country. But the BJP didn't resort to suitcase politics to save the government in 1998. Had they done so, they would have been successful.
During BJP rule, inflation remained under control.
True, they antagonised a lot of people with their India shining campaign, but what is the present Government doing? Before the current crisis, they were all geared up for a campaign on similar lines.
Vajpayee had the guts to go ahead with Pokhran-II successfully resisting pressure from the International community. His predecessors did not have the guts to do it. He started the Golden Quadrilateral project, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan and other projects. Read up on subject. Don't expect answers from others. The present Govt has done some good things too, no doubt. But they have tried to communalise everything from History, Geography and Economics. They even tried to communalise the Army. Do you think this is correct?
The present Government can cut down on taxes levied on petroleum products. It is not a complete solution, but helps to some extent at least. Why doesn't our PM, a noted economist doesn't do that?
I am no advocate for Advani to answer all your queries. But all parties have their faults, be it the BJP or UPA or Left. It is just a question of the degree of fault.
