Congress used Mayawati for a short term - to get their nominee elected as President. Mayawati got her cases disposed in turn. Then Congress and Mayawati dumped each other. Now Congress is using Mulayam for Nuclear Deal. Mulayam will use Congress to embarras Mayawati, his political enemy.
This is a short term opportunism where these politicians are completely ignoring the public's woes like sky rocketing commodity prices, high inflation, fuel prices, high interest rates, falling industrial output etc.
They will pay heavily for this as Nuclear deal has nothing to do with common man. It is a US agenda and the Central Govt is under extreme pressure from US to fulfil it.

So u feel that this deal has nothing to do with common man!! Do u realise that we are running out of carbon based fuels!! What is the replacement for that?? Nuclear Energy.. Miss this deal and repent later.. n a time will come when we will have to purchase Nuclear Power frm other countries on their terms.. In 18th Century India missed on Industrial Revolution and so we are in the "Developing Nations" category.. Miss on Nuclear technology and there won't be any point of coming back on development path again.. Plz come over Catse Politics.. I agree that UPA is a spineless Government.. but this particular decision is in favor of India..

we should know that in most of developed countries like USA, france .. havent deployed any nuclear power house for last 20 years, they are more keen to develop coal based, water and gas controlled power houses as they are much cheaper economically, truely we need the power today for our infrastructure development, but cant it may be less economically rather than going with this pact. we havent made any dame for last 30 years, never deployed gas (air) based power house on hill stations or where the air pressure is too much. in last , we are just following the US britain of last 40 years , not trying to compete them. we are just satisfied people with the past.

@ Isha: Can we put back the clock?? We can't .. in 18th century we didn't have a central government and when the time when we had one in form of british government, they were more busy in exploiting our resources.. So we missed on Industrial Revolution at tht time.. No it's natural that we are still lagging behind in Industrial aspect.. n this is the time to make up for that.. Let's not compete with others.. Lets compete with our own expectations.. We need to set realistic targets n try to achieve them.. India has 27% of the thoriium available on Earth.. It's true that it's not the chief input for Nucleat Plants (Its' Uranium).. But ways are being worked on.. But till then we need Uranium.. If this deal doesn't go thru.. we won't get any Uranium as it is very scarce in India.. n people who are fearing that with this deal we wont b free in terms of Nuclear tests.. without this deal too we wont b able to.. Coz for now.. No Uranium, No Nuclear Energy..
@ Santosh : I agree " but there is definitely shortterm oppurtunism" .. but is the way out? We can't hope n expect n wait to have a perfect Government with all it's members as saints.. So we should just support the right decisions.. which are really in intrest of country.. If we stop supporting politicians on basis of Caste,Region,Religion and Party then it will for our own gud only..

USA never enters into a deal with a country, which will be beneficial for that country. They have some sinister design under the garb of this deal. The ruling politicians are running for this suicidal deal without trying to control INFLATION, which is effecting you, me and every common man badly. TODAY'S DISCUSSION SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON INFLATION. BUT WE ARE BREAKING OUR HEAD ON A HARMFUL DEAL RATHER THAN THE BURNING ISSUE.

I fully agree with Mr Ajoy. They must have planned a long sinister shot in this deal which is being presented before people.

I really do not understand how Nuclear deal is going to solve the power problems of 110 crore people of this country. Nuclear Power has very limited use all over the world. Even US uses more for nuclear arms than energy. I read in a newspaper that 2% of energy produced in US is nuclear.
Its the English Press which is very enthusistic about this deal and had been presenting a rosy picture about the Nuclear Deal. They have been actually misrepresenting to us that it is cure for all. We must understand the reality.
I am also surprised that the staunch opponent to Nuclear deal (Mulayam) has overnight become an ardent supporter of it. We have been hearing that Congress and SP bitterly accusing each other for 4 years for various murder conspiracies against each others top leaders. All of a sudden they have become intimate friends who are willing to die for each other. :-)
My imperession had always been that US is trying to sell nuclear fuel to India. It makes a business sense for them. In other terms make India their subordinate, somehow.

Shrikants & Ajoy : This is a very sadistic kind of attitude that u r displaying.. Today US is the strongest Nation coz it knows how to do business.. n in a gud business deal.. both parties gain.. Target of US is not to harm India, but to strengthen itself.. and if in this process India benefits thn its fine with thm.. Inida fits into their scheme thats why they offered the deal to India..
US is not being ruled by Osama that they will plan sinister things for other coubtries..
India should rise to occassion and grab the opportunity.. No point in standing, begging and complaining on not getting alms..
