BJP had negotiated. Jaswant was ready to sign CTBT.
BJP's deal was 40% inferior.

It has been a tradition till now not to oppose in public for any International treaties signed by the Govt of the day.

Inspite of apprehensions about Pakisthan's intentions and Kargil, all parties supported Mr Bajpayee's initiative on Lahore Bus Service. Imagine how embarassed Mr Bajpayee and his Govt. would have felt, had political parties opposed his moves after he declared his offer.

May be Congress could have raised slogans in Agra where Mush and Bajpayee were negotiating in a failed summit.

But nothing of such things happened. Because all those were between India and another Nation.

Had BJP welcomed Nuclear agreement publicly in the very first go, Communists would not have dared to oppose for fear of being isolated.

And we need to do that.

Now. Or, never.

What a powerful remark.
But before you pat yourself on the back explain how you arrived at it being 40% inferior . Otherwise like many Congress spokespersons you are just a stray dog barking at the moon . The dog enjoys it and the moon could not care two hoots !

Many things Jaswant does that even his own party leaders do not know. He presents the job as the job accomplished to his own party leaders. Like he went to meet Mulayam without his party leaders' knowledge.

Similarly he had almost agreed to sign CTBT without his own party leaders' knowledge.

Start searching the archives. You might have to run for cover if you compare the deal BJP negotiated and Congress got.

Use RTI, the finest tool given to you for getting information.

I am sure Jaswant would say the info about his negotiated term are national secret and can not be shared with BJP supporters.
